Who is it for and how does it work?
Online Arts Award adviser training is for anyone who wants to guide children or young people through any level of Arts Award. There are three different online courses:
… each comprising an interactive webinar and two independent learning tasks.
Whichever course you choose, you'll start your online training by completing the 'Introduction to Arts Award' module in your own time (you must do this at least five days before your course webinar or we will reschedule your webinar booking for a later date). You also need to read the Arts Award adviser Toolkit for your chosen level(s) – we will let you know which sections to focus on when we email it to you, once your booking is confirmed.
You will join an expert trainer and other aspiring Arts Award advisers in a live webinar – three hours for Arts Award Discover & Explore and Gold training, and four hours for Arts Award Bronze and Silver.
After the webinar you will complete the 'Planning and support' module in your own time to complete your adviser training.
Arts Award online adviser training covers the same content and meets the same high standards as our face-to-face courses which are not currently available.
More about modules
There are two independent learning modules in each training course. The 'Introduction to Arts Award' module (which you complete before the webinar) covers:
- Arts Award’s mission and ethos
- the benefits and impact of doing Arts Award – for your organisation and for the young people you work with
- information about Arts Award qualifications
- suitable art forms for Arts Award
- key terms you need to know when delivering Arts Award.
The 'Planning and support' module (which you complete after the webinar) covers:
- getting started as an Arts Award centre
- planning for your Arts Award moderation
- the support available to advisers to help you plan and deliver your Arts Award programme
- the support available to young people to help them achieve Arts Award.
