The improved new model for Arts Award is now live! Here’s a handy summary of the actions centres need to take now and an overview of the changes, so you can get up to speed with the new approach and start enjoying the benefits.

Actions for centres

Here are a few important actions for current Arts Award centres to complete to enable your centre to get going with the improved model:

1. Sign and return your centre contact
   All current Arts Award centres have been sent a new centre contract by email. Please sign and return this as soon as possible.
   
   
2. Review updated centre resources
   The Arts Award Toolkits and the Best Practice Guidebook have been updated in line with the new approach. Please take some time to review the updated resources.
   
   

What are the changes to Arts Award?

The main improvements to Arts Award are:

• Moderation is no longer required for the majority of centres
• A simple marksheet has replaced the Adviser Assessment Report Form
• Quick and easy moderation is available where needed - removing complicated booking options and improving the timeframe in which certificates can be issued
• A new portfolio submission platform, where moderation is required, to streamline the submission process and speed up feedback
• Fast, digital certificate delivery*
• Our new annual centre monitoring and support process, which is now operational.

*Paper certificates will continue to be issued for Arts Award Discover and also for vulnerable young people (details available on our certificates page).

How do young people get their awards?

Baked into the new model is a new approach to young people getting their awards. You can review a summary of the new process or look at the new Enter young people section of our website, which contains all the information you need.

We recommend that centres get familiar with the new way to enter young people for Arts Award in good time, before your project ends, to avoid any delays or last-minute queries.

What support is available?

The Trinity team are here to help you transition to the new model. As part of the support on offer, we’re running a webinar about the changes taking place on 30 January 2024. This session is suitable for all current Arts Award centres and advisers who would like to know more about the improvements, or have questions about the new approach. Register now to secure your place.

What’s different for new centres?

There’s also a new approach to becoming an Arts Award centre. Organisations who would like to start running Arts Award will need to complete our free online centre validation process and train at least one team member as an adviser before registering their centre. All the information is available in the Get started section of our website.
