Helping Arts & Cultural organisations engage with young people

Are you an Arts & Cultural organisation looking to support children and young people to achieve Arts Award as either a Supporter or a centre?

Arts Council England encourages all Arts & Cultural organisations to support Arts Award, especially as part of your role as a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).

During 2017, we are offering a dedicated NPO support service for organisations delivering between 2018-2022. We can help you understand how you can deliver Arts Award as part of your NPO business plan.

Our NPO support programme is free of charge and starts as soon as you get you in touch with us today.

Contact the Trinity helpdesk on 020 7820 6178 or email us

Part of the criteria for being an NPO is to demonstrate how you will support children and young people to achieve Arts Award. Delivering Arts Award is therefore a key part of your business plan.

We can help you widen your audience and provide a framework for engaging with young people.

Arts Award can help Arts and Cultural organisations contribute to all of the Arts Council’s Goals but if you are focusing specifically on Goal 5 as part of your NPO business plan, we would like to hear from you. Goal 5: “Every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts and culture”.

Ways we can help you:

1. Personal advice sessions to support your business plan

Book a 30 minute free call with our NPO Associate via telephone or Skype if you’re keen to find out how Arts Award can work for you, or to get advice about developing your plans Book now

2. Registering as an Arts Award centre

The Arts Award centre is the organisation which runs Arts Award. If your organisation has previously arranged for team members to be trained as advisers but you have never registered as an Arts Award centre, we advise that you do this now. This enables Trinity College London and the Arts Council to recognise your organisation as an active Arts Award centre.

You can still work with freelance Arts Award advisers by asking them to link to your centre on Trinity’s adviser portal

3. Arts Award Supporter

Arts Award Supporters offer activities which young people can use towards their Arts Award such as backstage tours, meet the artist events and work experience opportunities. If your organisation is not ready to become an Arts Award centre but would like to work with other centres and support young people, find out how to become an Arts Award Supporter here. Be inspired by some great examples.

The Arts Award team can help to map Arts Award against planned NPO activities, offer ongoing support and discuss plans. Contact the Trinity helpdesk on 020 7820 6178 or email us
