We’re delighted to showcase our ‘My Arts Award Story’ film series.

To mark our 10th birthday, we’ve captured the Arts Award stories of young people from all walks of life. From schools to libraries, museums to social action, these talented young people have gained so many life-changing skills through doing their Arts Award.

Jamie’s story - Arts Award and autism

Jamie has a passion for graffiti and art. Through Bronze Arts Award, Jamie developed his artistic and communication skills, gained confidence and has been inspired to try for art college.

Tad’s story - improving life chances

Tad began his Arts Award journey when he was in a secure unit. With the support of Manchester-based charity, Odd Arts, he progressed through Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and achieved things he never thought he could.

A Year 10 story - supporting younger students

Year 10 students at Bishop Ramsey CofE Academy found their Arts Award project daunting at first, but as a team they supported each other to direct younger students in a play and were really proud of what they achieved.

Arts Award into university – Chrissy’s story

Chrissy wants to study Dance Therapy at university. Doing Gold Arts Award developed her leadership and project management skills and she gained valuable UCAS points, helping her secure a place at uni.

Arts Award in a museum - Milo’s story

Milo loves history and took part in an Arts Award Explore project at Gunnersbury Park & Museum. Through doing Arts Award Explore, Milo explored First World War objects first-hand and made an animation film.

CV-enhancing social action – Owen’s story

Owen is part of a social action group in Cumbria. Doing Silver Arts Award alongside the National Citizen Service programme helped Owen raise awareness on social issues within his community, improve his technical photography skills and enhance his CV.
