Children taking part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) have the chance to work towards an Arts Award Discover.
The SRC takes place every year during the summer holidays and children can sign up to take part at their local library. Children can then read six library books of their choice, collecting stickers and other rewards on the way.
The theme of this year’s SRC is ‘Mythical Maze’ and to offer Arts Award Discover, libraries need to order a special version of the `Meet the Mythmaker' activity booklet, which can be accessed from The Reading Agency. Bronze Arts Award and Shakespeare Reading Challenge
There’s also the chance for young people volunteering at libraries over the summer to put the skills they develop towards a Bronze Arts Award as well. Find out more here.
