As part of their Achieving Arts for Everyone consultation the Arts Council decided that as well as the 'good and the great' of the arts world, they would also invite a young person to comment on their arts consultation...
They chose Nicola Slawson who completed her Gold Arts Award in November 2009. In her comment piece she talks about the need for continued support of local youth arts centres and the important role that schools could play in developing the passions and creativity of young artists.

Nicola studied Arts Management at De Montfort University and now works at Shrewsbury’s brand new Theatre Severn. She completed her Gold Arts Award in November and has recently written for the Arts Professional, as well as working in America at a Children’s Theatre for 3 months. She is passionate about youth arts, audience development and digital media marketing.
