WSF: Shakespeare Challenge Bronze Arts AwardIn the lead up to and during London 2012 a special, time-limited programme created for the World Shakespeare Festival [produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company for London 2012 Festival] will be available to Arts Award centres. This builds on the Shakespeare Challenge, a programme that has been available since September 2010 and is widely used across the country. The World Shakespeare Festival Shakespeare Challenge programme is the same in structure but builds on the existing challenge by encouraging students to explore how Shakespeare’s plays are re-imagined and interpreted by cultures and countries around the world. The Royal Shakespeare Company and the British Council are working with a number of specially selected schools in the UK and internationally to deliver the WSF: Shakespeare Challenge, but other Arts Award centres are also welcome to use this programme during this period if they wish. Registered Arts Award centres can take part in the WSF: Shakespeare Challenge Bronze Arts Award by:
Your moderator will check that the WSF: Shakespeare Challenge programme has been followed fully for each section of the Bronze Award. A certificate of achievement from the RSC’s Artistic Director, Michael Boyd, will be sent to each young person along with the Bronze Award certificates. The WSF: Shakespeare Challenge is supported by the British Council and LOGOC (London Olympic Games Organising Committee) and the certificate of achievement will also include their endorsement.
