Arts Award Model: Drop in sessions in Ely & Soham
ADeC embed the Arts Award right through their creative arts work with young people. Here's what Project Officer and Arts Award Adviser Zoe Davidson told us about the ADeC delivery model:
'From bedroom DJs to photographers and poets, ADeC has created a model of delivering Arts Award with the potential to reach wider groups of young people and Arts Award advisers entirely through ‘out of school’ provision.'

The informal setting of the regular drop in sessions in two locations, with Advisers on-hand to help and support the young people, also has the benefit of allowing us to support our Arts Award Advisers. It helps us bring in the youth service, local theatre groups and schools, widening the promotion of the Arts Award. It’s also and is a great way to promote the qualification throughout the East Cambridgeshire district.
As a regional arts development agency and direct promoter of professional live events ADeC can also give young people the chance to get involved very practically, whether it’s front of house, backstage, tech... whatever interests them. With a growing number of young people progressing through the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels we aim to roll out more of these drop in centres across the area during 2010.
