Arts Award participants celebrate and create in Somerset

In April young people from across Somerset were given the opportunity to try out creative workshops and celebrate their Arts Award at The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre, Taunton. FUSED was a free event of arts activities and performances, led by internationally acclaimed Cirque Bijoux. This event was promoted by the Young Art Promoters (YAP), a group of seven young people, aged 11–19 from across Somerset.

Arts Award participants took part in a series of workshops in v-jing, circus performing and beat boxing. They shared their views about the arts in a consultation set up by Actiontrack performance company, before a dazzling performance from beat boxing sensation, Audible.

FUSED was supported by Spaeda (Somerset Arts Education Partnership) who provide a web of arts education info and support, creating opportunities for young people to experience the arts in Somerset.
