Have your opinion heard - My Word Is Gold

< Return to news index

Do you know a young person who feels passionately about an arts issue? Do they have an opinion that we need to hear? Are they a great writer, speaker or presenter?

Why not encourage them to enter the My Word is Gold competition, run by Arts Award Voice. Applicants aged between 13-25 can create a written article, a video lecture, or a podcast.

There will be two age categories, 13-18 and 19-25, judged by a panel including a professional journalist, a Gold Award achiever and an Arts Award moderator – read the judges full biographies here. They will select two winners and two runners up in each age category, while also selecting a highly commended entry in each age category.

The final digital anthology of the winning submissions will feature written entries alongside uploaded video and audio submissions. All entries will also feature on the Voice website and the winners will get the chance to be profiled on the site.

Do you know a young person working towards their Gold Award, or would be intrigued to enter? Then this competition is for them. All they need to do is register for an Arts Award Voice account and upload their work. They will need to tag their submission with ‘MyWordIsGold’ and they can also get in touch with Voice editor emily@artsawardvoice.com if they have any questions about uploading submissions.

The deadline for entry is 31 July 2015. A judging session will take place in August to confirm the winners and runners up. Winners will be notified in early September.
